How it all started

We're dedicated to producing the very best Wagyu in the United States by providing stress-free environments, implementing proper cattle handling techniques and finishing with only the highest quality feeds available. Established initially as Carpenter Cattle Company in Texas in 2017 by Father & Son, Scott and Colby Carpenter, 22 WAGYU has evolved immensely from its humble beginnings as a lifelong dream.

The Carpenter Cattle 3C was rebranded in 2023 with the number “22”, paying homage to Colby’s lucky number, his grandfathers LSU Baseball & Basketball number and the year Colby & Ashely were married, 2022. 22 also happens to be the county number of Teton County Wyoming, where our Wagyu genetics and beef were perfected, pampered and where we grew exponentially.

If the number “22” carries a unique meaning to you, we invite you to attach and share with us your personal connection to the number and to us here at 22 Wagyu.

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.

Philosophy

We are constantly learning and perfecting our genetics to produce the very best marbling in the shortest amount of time. Our paternal traits include long bodies, fast growth and docile temperaments. Our maternal traits are evolving into tall, large frame Wagyu with superior docility, above average milk and unmatched mothering abilities. At 22 Wagyu, we place a strong emphasis on docility, workability and overall phenotype. Our belief, based on years of experience, is that superior genetics mean nothing if they’re wild, ill-tempered and dangerous to work with.

As ranchers, we are tasked with taking care of the land, so we strive to be stewards of the gift and resources God blessed us with. When it comes to local food, knowing your rancher, and understanding where your food came from, there is no better example than 22 WAGYU. Our 100% Authentic Japanese Wagyu cows, bulls and steers are raised with only the best in animal husbandry, feed and cattle handling techniques. We take pride in participating in producing the very best beef, protein and cattle genetics in the world, maintaining strong ethics and emphasizing correct phenotypes.
